For the first time ever, Orkla has entered the list of the most attractive employers among IT students. Historically, Orkla has built a strong presence as an attractive employer within communication, marketing, finance, sales and law. However in recent years, there has also been a greater focus on building our profile within IT. With the launch of the Young Professionals program in 2019, Orkla has been given the opportunity to attract and develop some of the best IT talents in Norway.
The changes in the digital landscape are constant, and it is important for Orkla to recruit employees with relevant IT backgrounds to meet today and tomorrow's digital challenges and opportunities.
- We want students to have the opportunity to develop in Orkla. Our Young Professionals are an important target group for us, and by investing in them, we are also investing in Orkla's future, says Geir Olav Nistad, CIO of Orkla.
Orkla IT will receive a new group of trainees who will begin in August, and will be adapting the program to fit today's Corona situation with digital workshops, online presentations, and virtual team building sessions. What is unique about the program is that each trainee gets to experience tasks and projects that sit at the intersection of business and IT. In addition, everyone gets their own mentor and follows a set program that includes invidualised courses and certifications.
